Your Hospice-directed gifts to Marquardt Foundation can help families in a variety of ways—buying a few groceries during a particularly tough month, easing the expenses not covered by Medicare and Medicaid, making a simple and memorable last wish come true, even providing a happy moment like a birthday party or anniversary celebration. Your donation helps us support families and honor the life and legacy of those living with a terminal illness.
Although our hospice team is made up of extraordinary nurses and caregivers, counselors and social workers, we know we can’t do it alone. We need the help of volunteers like you. Helping someone through their end-of-life journey is one of the most courageous and impactful gifts you can give.
There are many ways you can help support our hospice services. Some involve working directly with patients and families, while others are behind the scenes.
Companionship — Visit with patients and their families. Share stories, play games, read articles and books, take walks, listen to music, write cards and letters, bring a pet, provide massage therapy, be an interpreter and more.
Legacy Projects — Help patients leave a legacy by creating audio and video recordings, making scrapbooks and photo albums, transcribing family stories, writing poetry and more.
Administrative & Clerical Assistance — Answer phone calls. Help with filing, data entry, mailings and correspondence.
Veteran-to-Veteran — Veterans share a special bond of experience and understanding. We invite volunteers to visit veteran patients and help with veteran pinning ceremonies.
Other Opportunities — Have another idea? Please let us know. We’re always looking for ways to help patients and their families.
